Pon Yate Company Limited is an organization registered as a social business enterprise at DICA (Directorate of Investment and company administration) under the Myanmar Ministry of Economic Investment on October 12, 2018. It is a private organization providing technology and information to civil organizations in various regions.

 

Formed particularly by 12 ethnic youth leaders in Myanmar, Pon Yate conducts research using ethnic languages, Burmese language and foreign languages, contributing to Myanmar's reform process. It aspires to be a part in building a federal state in accordance with international standard, and is currently working in such sectors as parliamentary, administrative, business, social and ethnic rights and equality. Pon Yate has worked with more than 70 civil society organizations in Myanmar to provide technical training, capacity building courses and to share and implement information building courses.

 

Furthermore, Pon Yate is collaborating with 5 local organizations in Kachin State and USAID, working together to help reduce drug-related problems. In collaboration with Thailand's Envisage, a research organization, it is working on internally displaced people's issues in Rakhine state, indigenous rights, and matters related to the monitoring of religious conflicts. It is providing research support to organizations such as the JPF (Joint Peace Fund), a funding agency comprising of embassies from around the world, and networking with non-governmental organization SOCHA, it collects research data on the ground.

Pon Yate aims to support national organizations by teaching and using the latest technological tools to support and contribute to the research efforts of the respective organizations involved in sectors such as parliamentary reform, national governance, transparency in economics, and general social sector reform.
